Mr. Newingham had a distinguished 40-year officiating career and was assigned multiple state final assignments in basketball, football, volleyball, and softball. Mr. Newingham was the assignor for the Tri-Valley Conference for over 15 years and was also one of the founding fathers of the conference. His dedication and promotion of student athletics were truly impressive.  The nominee for this award should have many of the outstanding character traits that embody the type of person Mr. Newingham represented.
